It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our comrade this year. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends:
It with much sadness to tell you of Legionnaire Mike Sabo’s passing today on August 6, 2019. Mike was not only a great Legionnaire who quietly worked many of our BBQ’s and other Legion events, but he was also an Elk from the Elk Grove Elks Lodge #2577.
This morning, Mike passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by family as he has been battling cancer for some time. Mike was most noted for his friendly demeanor, his love of Service above Self which he shows by being an Elk and a member of the American Legion. He had a passion for cooking and if you ever visited Elk Grove Lodge #2577 for a meal prepared by Mike, they were the best! His famous meatloaf was a favorite of many! He will be missed by many of us; who can only try to be the person he was. As he passes to Post Everlasting, please keep his wife, Jane, and his family in your prayers.
There will be a Celebration of Life in his honor at the Elk Grove Elks Lodge #2577 on September 7, 2019. Time 1:00 pm.
